Behind the Scenes With O’Neill Studios

Blog, O'Neill Studios

We are so thrilled that hometown artist Maggie O’Neill and her team at O’Neill Studios is working tirelessly to create a stunning interior design for Teddy & The Bully Bar! Check out the incredible floor in our Private Event space. Did you know that TR’s favorite color was blue?

It’s said that President Theodore Roosevelt loved to eat, but to him the dinner table was less an occasion for fine dining than as a springboard for conversations. In keeping with this, we have once again brought in Maggie O’Neill, whose design for sister restaurant LINCOLN was recognized by DC Modern Luxury Magazine as the Best New Restaurant Design of 2011. Her work definitely keeps our patrons talking!

The space they are creating for TEDDY is a classic, contemporary restaurant that is both trendsetting and timeless. Many aspects of President Roosevelt’s life and the era in which he led our great nation are being skillfully and artfully incorporated into the look and feel of Teddy & The Bully Bar right now, including old time coffee pots, gas-powered light fixtures retrofitted with electric, faux taxidermy, a beautiful restored antique stove and a birch “forest” diorama designed to invoke Roosevelt’s love of the outdoors and his National Parks legacy.

And check out the detail on our Mount Rushmore wall as it’s being poured and fashioned!

We can’t wait to unveil it all in our Grand Opening this June!
